How to Find the Right Service Provider for Your Business

You already know what are the right qualities of a service provider, but how can you find one that matches your small business? You can always rely on a request for proposal (RFP), but how do you find out what bidders left out?

Referrals

Building business relationships with your peers can help you find options, other than just exchange a few tricks. Referrals, either online or the traditional word of mouth, are valuable. This can provide insider information on how service providers work. Pick companies that have experience working with small businesses. Entrepreneurial companies, rather then large one-size-fits all corporations, are ideal outsourcing partners for small business players.

Social Media

A company's social media space (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) can reveal their strengths and priorities. Look at their followers and fans to find out who they are working with, and what these people are saying about the service provider. This can provide information on the kind of businesses they work with or industry that they specialise in.
